Metro 2033 Release Date Confirmed

It's time once again, to stack yet another potential great game on the list of what appears to be "Game-o-rama 2010". Yes, this is our official title for the fact that, the first three months of 2010 is seeing a plethora of game releases usually reserved for the hot, hot holiday buying season.

THQ's Xbox 360 console-exclusive Metro 2033, will release for the North American public, on March the 16th (March 19th for the European market). Sandwiched between the likes of Battlefield: Bad Company 2, Final Fantasy XIII, and Blur (to name just a few), we kinda hope this one doesn't get lost in the shuffle.

We're a pretty big fan of the pre-order, usually due to all the potential bonus's retailers offer.  In this case, you can pre-order either the Standard or Limited Editions and you'll receive free Metro 2033 themed Avatar items.  Not the greatest of pre-order bonus, but a bonus none-the-less.

Dragon Age: Origins releases to retail

So you think between all of your time being spent playing Borderlands, Brutal Legend, or Uncharted 2, you might find time for another RPG?  Hell yeah! 

Today marks the release of BioWare's epic RPG, Dragon Age: Origins.  If you've ever played any BioWare title, you'll know that you're in for one swell treat!  Also, I'm sure the disc is not light on content, but they've gone ahead and also released three DLC packs as well, The Stone Prisoner, Warden's Keep and the Blood Dragon Armor.

The Stone Prisoner (1200 MS Points) - unlocks new environments, items, and characters and unlocks hours of new gameplay, involving the stone golem Shale.

Warden's Keep (560 MS Points) - gains access to a premium dungeon, explore and find new loot, including some cool ass ancient Grey Warden armor.  Also, a chance to gain two of six mysterious abilities, a new base complete with stores and wares, and a toy chest to place all your items. 

And lastly, you can purchase the Blood Dragon Armor for 0 Microsoft Points, which will give you additional combat protection in Dragon Age as well as the upcoming Mass Effect 2 - aye!!!!

Oh, and one more thing - in an odd media team-up; Jared Leto's led "30 Seconds to Mars" releases their newest single "This is War" as the title song from Dragon Age: Origins.  We've embedded the video for your listening enjoyment below.  Jared's so dreamy!!!

BioShock surfaces on February 9th, 2010 | Release Dates

I have it on good authority (from 2K Games) that the Sequel to one of the most original games of 2007 will be released, globally mind you, on February 9th, 2010.  That's a mere 5 months away.  Would you kindly let us know what you will do in the meantime?  I mean, I'm not sure if there will be enough games to play to hold us over...maybe.

In what has to be the final of 17 promotional videos for the Dark Knight's latest adventure, Rocksteady goes into some visual depth, showcasing how the Batarang, Explosive Gel, Grapnel Gun and Line Launcher are used in the upcoming Batman game.

I'm super-excited for this game, but can't help but wonder if they're over-marketing it? I think after the great (but short) demo, now all we want is the full game! Let us have it!



Batman: Arkham Asylum is available August 25th on Xbox 360 and Playstation 3

Batman: Arkham Asylum gets an August release date | Finally

Hot on the heels of e3, Warner Brothers Interactive and Eidos pinned down an August 25th release (August 28th if you're across the pond) of the new, exciting title in the Batman series. About a month ago, there was a "end of summer" delay, adding a few more months for some spit and polish, which will be certainly evident in the final product.

Below is the latest trailer showing some "free-flow" combat you'll get to experience in the final version. Oh, and don't forget, if you happen to have one of those fancy PS3's, it may sway your purchase due to an exclusive (and free) downloadable Joker character to play in the challenge maps. It's a cool addition to be sure, but not one enough to pull me from the xbox 360 version.

This week in game releases | Wolverine Edition

So the staff of Mashbuttons and Electricmustache attended the X-Men Origins: Wolverine Premier last night in Tempe, Arizona so we've got our feral senses primed and ready to play the game. This week sees the release of the Movie-to-Game adaptation on all systems under the sun. Oh, there's some other games releasing this week too, Velvet Assassin looks really fun, the rest...not so much.

Brutal Legend gets a fall tour!

It is with equal parts professional courtesy, and girlish excitement that we bring to you the news of the release of one of the rocking-est, most metal of upcoming games (not "highly anticipated"), Brutal Legend. Tim Schafer's latest opus, involving a Eddie Riggs, (voiced and modeled after funnyman Jack Black) the "ultimate roadie" who after a stage accident, awakens "in a world that looks very strange yet oddly familiar, a world where every Heavy Metal album cover and lyric Eddie knows has come to life, and where the evil emperor Doviculus and his demon army, The Tainted Coil, have enslaved the last remaining humans."

Sounds RIGHTEOUS right, brother? (see what i did there, The Righteous Brothers, anyhow)

After signing a death treaty and contract that had to be notarized in 7 states and 3 languages, we are able to tell you that on Rocktober 13th (not a typo), you'll get to play this legendary game! Possible Spoiler Alert - But this week in game releases is a snorefest! Unless you want some shovelware to whore our your consoles, just to play something, ANYTHING this week. My advice, play ET on the Atari 2600, as it's *better than anything coming out this week.

New 3D Bionic Commando in stores May 19th

Surely in a move to overshadow the Nintendo Press Release this morning, Capcom announced today that the eagerly-anticipated Bionic Commando will ship on May 19th for both the Xbox 360 and the Playstation 3. (A PC version will follow shortly after).

Many of you have probably played the fantasic remake of Bionic Commando: Rearmed that was released to both the XBLA and PSN last summer. This time, they're taking it to the third-dimension, and you'll get to bionically grapple and fly over your landscape taking out enemies with bionic precision. I must say that the game does look promising.

We'll post a review if we can get a copy from Capcom, until then, enjoy the screenshots, and don't forget to pre-order the game from the following retailers depending on the bonus you want!
