360 degree tour of the Disney E3 Booth | E3 2011

Phineas and Ferb in Across the 2nd Dimension

One of my favorite booths of E3 was the large and in-charge Disney booth.  This year, they truly commanded some massive square-footage!  Complete with a coffee bar, all the latest titles from Disney (and the list is as big as it ever has been), and even Disney sketch artists on hand to whip up your favorite character for your E3 souvenir.

So in the interest of showing you all what's what, I took a quick 60 second 360 degree shot of the booth from atop their second floor.  Check it out.  Oh, and we'll have more posts with our impressions of all their games.

The Fall of Earth is near in the latest Mass Effect 3 trailer | Mass Effect 3

Commander Shepard's battle comes home to Earth, with the latest teaser for BioWare's third and final installment of the Mass Effect Trilogy.  I guess this means I should finally start to play Mass Effect 1 and 2.  Everyone else seems to love it!  This one does look pretty freaking sweet, though it's hard to tell if that this is an RPG, from the trailer.  Check it out, and let us know if you're planning on picking it up in March, 2012!

Nintendo's E3 Opening | E3 2011

We covered Nintendo's Press Conference earlier, but have been waiting to upload this video of the first 5 minutes of the show, with a live orchestra and some fancy singing people doing some oohs and ahhs, belting out renditions of Zelda classic tunes we all know and love.  So, at least until Nintendo asks us to remove, here's the first 5 minutes of their press conference.

Dominic and Kevin playing Prime World | E3 2011

So, our very first meeting for E3 2011 (after Nintendo's Press Conference) was down in the meeting rooms of the concourse hall.  This time we're hitting up Nivel to showcase their newest title, Prime World. This hybrid of a casual and hard-core strategy game actually caught me off guard.  There are many roles you can play, from supportive, where you're just playing some casual Zuma-like mini-games to being on the front lines and in the fray battling for flags to own the land.  Nival was super-hospitable, and they were a great team to meet and get to know.  Here's some of our play-time with the team.

Check out the images after the break.  We'll have our full impressions and more screens from the title posted soon.

Where in the hell did Witcher 2 come from?

I have heard of the fantasy RPG title the Witcher, hell, I didn't even know there was a sequel, but the most recent news? Well that would be that it will be released on the Xbox 360. The only thing that stopped me from playing this was that the PC I have didn't have the horsepower to run it. In the small meeting room tucked into the corner of E3 I get my eyes on the console version, driven by two players. The reason for the two players was to show just how open ended this title is, as the outcomes, experience earned, and loot were completely playing the section stealthily or if you are the type to charge into action. Here is the part that got me though, the Witcher states that their standard is free DLC and DRM free and that the finished product would have a variety of 16 different endings.

Dragon's Nest hands on from Nexon

Back in the hotel, 11 PM and now it is time to post all the good stuff seen and played on the show floor. First up is Nexon's booth, title Dragon's Nest. After basically being told grab a drink, come to the computer and lets get it on, it was on. Dragon's Nest is a MMO Fantasy RPG that has the cutesy anime look to the characters and we we played on a 2 on 2 match. Both keyboard and gamepad controls were available, but when in Rome, you have to go keyboard. My input after ruling the match by frantically clicking with the opposition in the cross hairs and using the special moves assigned to the number keys was that I had fun, and as a fan of the console titles primary and never getting hooked on MMO's that takes a lot. That or I am finally succumbing to the trend.

Nintendo Press Conference Consists Of This!

So as we wait for the actual show to begin, what do we do to kill time? Well thats a no brainer with the Nintendo press conference to begin shortly, pull out the 3DS and watch the spot pass start blowing up. But I digress as the show is about to begin and I will let you know some of what was addressed before going to the media lounge to post this due to a LOT of people slowing down the wifi to 28.8 dial speeds.

E3 Photos | E3 2011 (Update)

So we've been up since about 5:30 this morning, and we've since been to the Nokia Theatre, seen/heard the latest in regards to the Nintendo Wii U (has to be a joke here), and are now holed up in the West Hall Media Hospitality room where we have about an hour before the show floor officially opens.

Here are a few pics of the scene.  Be sure to come back, as we'll be posting MANY more pics for you to all enjoy.

First pics from E3 | E3 2011

This just in, this just in, from the Historic Mayfair Hotel in Downtown Los Angeles, we've just gotten setup and settled in for the night before we hit the snooze buttons and catch a small amount of sleep before getting up to get our badges, head to the Nokia Theatre for Nintendo's Press Conference, then on to the start of the show at noon.  Stay tuned and keep coming back for all your E3 needs.

So without further adieu, here's the first pics of our E3; from our hotel room.

E3 confirmed, room booked, road trip ready, and the countdown begins!

That's right folks, after going by myself last year, trying to cover as much as I can as one person on a mission full of booth babes, celebrity sightings, game reveals, NBA finals, parties, and riots, I have decided not to attempt the event alone this year. Your Arizona located independent gaming journo's Dominic, Joey, and new to the crew, Kevin will be taking the show by storm bringing you as much as they possibly can over the course of three days...you know as long as it isn't being run by Sony and the network doesn't come crashing down like a levy. With just a hair over a month left, the countdown has begun, hope to see y'all there!
