Bioware Announces First Official Expansion Pack to Critically Acclaimed Dragon Age: Origins

Hail loyal readers, the first official expansion back to Dragon Age: Origins has been announced. It is titled, Dragon Age: Origins - Awakening. Bioware has pulled all the stops and are bringing their loyal gamers what they really want.

If you have been living under a rock somewhere and are wondering what Dragon Age: Origins is all about, well let me just say it has won numerous Game of the Year awards for both the console and PC version of the game.

Dragon Age: Origins - Awakening (from here on out to be known as Awakening) will take players to the new land of Amaranthine. You will be playing in this epic land to further unravel the true secrets of the Darkspawn. You will not only learn their true motivations, but you will battle new and meaner Darkspawn whom are smarter then their original brethren. They are horrifying and there are terrifying and ripe for a good Axe to the head. You will also battle an Infernal Golum and a Spectral Dragon.

Awakening will feature a new Level Cap, New Spells, and being able to re-spec their characters attributes to even further customization of your characters. You will also have Five new members for your team.

The timeline for this game is to take place right after the events of Dragon Age: Origins and will put players into the role of the Grey Warden Commander tasked with rebuilding the Grey Wardens as well as solving the mystery of how the Darkspawn where able to live after the defeat of their Archdemon. You will be able to chose how the reconstruction occurs, how to solve the problems, and make the moral decisions your own.

Release date for Awakening will be March 16th, 2010 for all platforms currently supporting Dragon Age: Origins. You will need the current Dragon Age: Origins to play Awakening and will retail at $39.99. For more information and for Pre-Orders, visit http://dragonage.bioware.com/awakening
