Sony lowers the price on the PS2...

No, that is not a typo. Yes, the PlayStation 2 just received a price cut. What's that you say? You want Sony to drop the price of the (current gen) PS3? Get in line, as they've said that a PS3 price cut is not in any immediate plans. Considering the PS2 has been out since 2000, how many of you are excited about a $30 price drop for a system almost 10 years old? The news is/was presented as this huge announcement from Sony - only to drop the dud that is a PS2 price drop. Sony, though we applaud your "10-year life cycle" fluff, anyone who follows the industry has moved on from the aging platform to even care about saving $30. Sure, will you sell a few more PS2's? Yeah, probably, and by now, I would have to think that each PS2 sold is pure profit - allowing them to make up from the impact of the sluggish PS3 sales.

C'mon Sony - give the public what they want. They want a PS3, it's a great machine, but for being out for over 2 years, it's still $400.
